From the gospel roots of Georgia, USA to the stages of the world, James Brown’s music is celebrated across the globe and its DNA can still be heard in countless genres.

2026 marks 20 years since the world lost the Godfather of Soul, yet his music remains as powerful, urgent and relevant as ever.

Funky Funky Productions, in association with The James Brown Family Foundation, presents this one-of-a-kind performance that forges a direct connection to one of the most iconic musical legacies in the most authentic way. Featuring a 9-piece funk orchestra, the concert showcases the hits, the heart-wrenching ballads, and the high-octane dance numbers of the Funk and Soul legend.

New York–born and Southern-raised, Guy is a poet, vocalist and magnetic frontman whose work fuses soul, spoken word and theatre. Having toured internationally and collaborated with artists including The Floacist (Floetry), Fantastic Negrito, Talib Kweli and Saul Williams, he brings a singular presence and storytelling voice to the Echoes of the Godfather stage.
